I don’t have it all figured out. Not even close.
For a long time, I thought I was supposed to.
I thought faith meant being strong. I thought healing meant eventually reaching a place where the mess was gone. I thought if I prayed enough, tried enough, loved people enough, and did everything the right way, eventually life would become a little less complicated.
Turns out, I was wrong about a lot of that.
I’m still learning how to trust God when I don’t understand what He’s doing. I’m still learning that I don’t have to earn love, fix everyone, carry everything, or have all the answers. And some days, I’m still a complete mess.
But I’m beginning to understand that maybe becoming isn’t what happens after the mess. Maybe becoming happens right in the middle of it.
That’s why I created The Evolving Mess.
This isn’t a place where I’m going to pretend I have life, faith, marriage, family, or healing all figured out. I don’t.
What you will find here is honesty-the kind that sometimes hurts, sometimes makes me laugh at myself, and sometimes brings me to tears.
I’ll share what I am learning about God, about myself, and about letting go of the things I’ve spent a lifetime trying to control. I’ll share the victories, but I’ll also share the days when I completely miss the mark.
Because I’m realizing that faith isn’t about becoming perfect. It’s about learning who to reach for when life is anything but perfect.
So if you’re somewhere in the middle too-still healing, still questioning, still growing, still believing, and occasionally wondering what in the world you’re doing-you’re in good company here.
Pull up a chair. Bring your coffee. You don’t have to have it all figured out here.
We’re evolving right in the middle of the mess. Together. ☕️
